Anglian Larder is proud to begin supporting the SAX Community Fridge a unique local initiative dedicated to reducing food waste while strengthening community connections.
SAX Community Fridge is much more than a place to access surplus food. As part of the Community Fridge Network run by the charity Hubbub, the project has become a valued community hub where friendships, support networks, and social interaction naturally flourish.
Operating from The Old Bank at Riverside Gardens, SAXCF provides a welcoming space where anyone can share or take food that would otherwise go to waste. The project plays an important role in promoting sustainability, wellbeing, and community resilience.
Working Together for Community Wellbeing
Anglian Larder would like to develop a lasting partnership with SAX Community Fridge, supporting the charity’s mission to bring people together and create meaningful social impact.
As a first step, we have donated tea, coffee, and sugar to help ensure visitors can continue to meet, connect, and support one another in a warm and welcoming environment.
Small gestures can make a big difference — especially when they help sustain spaces where community relationships and wellbeing are nurtured.
A Message of Thanks
We were delighted to receive this message from the SAX Community Fridge team:
“Just to follow up on yesterday’s surprise delivery! Once again thank you so much for providing us with so much of the tea, coffee, and sugar that our visitors will enjoy so much — as you say for quite a few months!
It really is generous of Anglian Larder to do this for us, and is very much appreciated.”
