Who We Are

Anglian Larder is a new enterprise, set up in 2018 to support the catering side of the proposed Sizewell C power station. We plan to bring together some of the region’s best farmers, artisan food makers, drinks producers and bakers who wouldn’t otherwise have been able to again a foothold into the competitive contracts which will be on offer at the new construction site.

Our business model is based on the award winning Somerset Larder (www.somersetlarder.co.uk), which was launched in 2014 by a group of south west food and drink producers to supply canteens and cafes for employees working on the construction of Hinkley Point C. It now employs more than 300 people and the food it supplies is almost entirely locally sourced. The idea was such a huge success that the company is now looking at a number of other exciting opportunities, which will ensure the concept of regional support and local employment for suppliers of large contractors is replicated in other parts of the UK.

What We Do

Anglian Larder plans to operate from a Central Production Kitchen (CPK), where the majority of food will be produced and then delivered to customers in the region.

The CPK will be a brand new modern facility, capable of producing more than 15,000 meals per day. We will supply all the restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and vending machines for workers at Sizewell, during construction and beyond. The CPK will be equipped to supply other businesses and organisations based in the region in the future, making it asecure long term prospect for employees and contractors. All our suppliers will be sourced from the East Anglia region.

Nourishing the Community

The Larder will employ staff from the local community and offer a variety of apprenticeship schemes linked to colleges in the region; in hospitality, HR, finance and administration.

Where possible all packaging will be biodegradable or compostable and the business will aim to be zero waste. It will support local charities, hospitals and schools - with a particular focus on helping individuals during the current Covd-19 pandemic.

The ‘from field to fork’ ethos will assist local food and drink producers to get the finest, locally sourced products into all the catering facilities at Sizewell.
